Tracy McCormack is a highly respected professional specialising in marketing, and arts management for the creative industries.

As Marketing Executive with Carolina Mountain Sales, Tracy is responsible for the digital and print advertising for the organization, all campaigns, overall company branding and web presence, marketing tools, strategy, & process.  As Marketing Executive, Tracy supports 30 full time brokers and works closely with the Wilkinson ERA Real Estate corporate office in Charlotte.  Tracy formerly worked with the Asheville Design Center in a project management and marketing capacity.  The Asheville Design Center is a non-profit organization focused on 'Community-Led Design'; an approach that involves the community as a key stakeholder in the design process.

In 2012, Tracy and her family returned to the US after ten years working abroad in Ireland.  Prior to moving to the US, Tracy worked with the Crafts Council of Ireland, project managing the design, development and promotion of Learn.Craft.Design.ie, an education and professional development online presence for the Crafts Council.  Among many exciting projects, Tracy managed an annual festival of architecture in Waterford, Ireland and organized events for various city councils, Dublin Docklands Development Authority, Culture Ireland and the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism.

As the former Director of Project Management with Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture, Tracy provided hands-on guidance and leadership in the design, development, implementation and success of a core programme of over 200 projects of varying scale and practice: from Visual Art, Architecture, Community Arts, Design, Film and Healthcare, to the Performing Arts such as Dance, Music and Theatre.  As Director of Project Management, Tracy was responsible for establishing the Project Management Office (PMO), hiring, mentoring, training, and developing a Project Management team.  In addition, Tracy managed a project budget set by the Director and Programme Team, which included responsibility of all production costs for the programme of events.

Before joining Cork 2005 in 2002, Tracy, a native Chicagoan, worked in the United States, establishing and managing the project management office for Circadence Corporation, an industry leader in the development of cutting-edge software solutions for the Internet, based in Boulder, Colorado.  Previous to that Tracy provided project leadership and operational management for other high-tech and information management companies in the United States.

Tracy’s interests lie in the role of the creative sector as part of the social and economic fibre of our communities.  She is focused on their creative contributions as well as the impact of culture and the creative industries in Asheville.

With over fifteen years of project management, operations and marketing experience, Tracy has gained a better understanding of how people work within their given industry or field, which has informed her professional approach and fed her appetite for new and varied challenges and opportunities.

Tracy studied Art History at Columbia College in Chicago and has a post-graduate diploma in Project Management from University College Cork and an International Project Management Practitioner certification from the Institute of Project Management, Ireland.  She is a member of the internationally respected Project Management Institute (PMI).
